ISRAEL JOURNAL OF VETERINARY MEDICINE
EDITORIAL
Since taking on the task of editor of the Israel Journal of Veterinary Medicine, it has been a pleasant experience to receive such a lot of support from Israeli veterinarians for the journal. The vast majority of veterinarians whom I approached appreciate the value and importance of our journal and are willing to contribute. This edition of the Israel Journal of Veterinary Medicine has proved to be a bountiful issue. The present issue already shows some positive developments: Dr. Bruchim’s article on Viper Snakebites together with a protocol for treatment appears at the beginning of summer and will help add information and understanding in how to approach snakebite victims. The contribution of Dr. Ohad and Dr. Peery under the heading of “What is your diagnosis?” is a welcome input which is both of interest and informative. Dr. Shlosberg's toxicology viewpoint is a welcome addition to our journal from the expert in this field. I welcome Dr. Reuven Katain’s book review on Prof. James Steele a leading personality in the field of public health. Abstracts for the 34th Symposium of Veterinary Medicine under the chairmanship and guidance of Prof. Perk are also included in this issue. The proceedings clearly demonstrate the contribution of the Koret Veterinary School to the changing and improving landscape of Veterinary Medicine in Israel. Still the journal has a long way ahead and I look forward to receiving articles from veterinarians in Israel to the journal. I thank all the referees for their help and time spent in reviewing the articles. Without your contribution nothing can be achieved.
Wishing all a healthy summer Trevor Waner, Editor.
